Reading good books is the best thing that a person can do. It
is one of the best ways to learn about things, it is also one of the best ways
to knowing how life moves in the minds of the writers and it is also among the
best ways to increase our own understanding of life. The art of reading good
books is slowly dying out today and we blame our busy schedules but each one of
us really needs to make time to read up on the things that interest us and intrigue
us.
A book can paint pictures in the mind like nothing else and
it is really the best mode of transmitting knowledge even today. We don’t only
get knowledge from a book but feelings also permeate from the writer to the reader
through books. Reading for me is among the most pleasurable things to do in
life, I’m sure that there are a few like me out there, but more people need to
pick up good books and read. With that in mind, What’s Up Human welcomes people
to share their books and their reads with us.
Here are three books which I feel must be read by everyone. This
is going to be part of a really long series of articles on books and books to
be read, readers please do suggest your own books through comments or email.
Conversations with God, An Uncommon Dialogue: Neale Donald Walsch has written this
series of books wonderfully well. The books in their entirety have
conversational dialogues where the writer is involved in a conversation with
none other than God. The first book of the series, Conversations with God, an
Uncommon Dialogue was released in 1995 and since then the author has written 8
further books in the same series all of which have done fairly well in the
markets.
We all have had these little conversations with God once in
a while, as a child or even as a frustrated adult but what we miss out usually
in such conversation is the two way flow of the conversation, these books illustrate
that fact well and also go on to address some of the most important issues that
concerns us as a humanity. The first book, An Uncommon dialogue is one of the
most well known books in the series and has literally helped change and gives
shape to thousands of lives the world over. A MUST READ for everyone.
Chariots of the Gods: This masterpiece by Erich von Daniken
is among the first books I read which opened up a whole new world of possibilities
for my mind. The author’s lifelong studies of the ruins of ancient
civilizations around the world come alive in a thought provoking book which really
forces you to think about how aliens have visited our planet since hundreds and
thousands of years and that these aliens are none other than our true
ancestors.
Facts that clearly point out that there were
extraterrestrial beings on our planet hundreds of years ago and that they could
be the ones who have been depicted by our ancestors as the gods who looked like
men but performed miracles that they were unable to comprehend. Think about how
if we went back in time with even the simplest gadgets and how they would think
we are gods too. This book is the source for many science fiction stories and
has hard hitting facts that are hard to ignore. A MUST READ for anyone who
wants to know.
Who moved my cheese: This short book is a really interesting
and absorbing read. Written by well known author Spencer Johnson, this small
three hour read leaves behind impressions for a lifetime. This book has often been credited to changing lives instantly as it has very simple yet strong messages for everyone to follow and understand.
Change is always
something that we are afraid of, even the smallest changes in our life take us
the greatest efforts to make, and this book explains the joy of change and
brings to life a story that we are all a part of at some point of our busy
lives. This book is for everyone, even for the people who don’t like to read
books as it is short and tells a wonderful story of how changes are important
and how changes are good.
A MUST READ for everyone!
