Wake Up Human

wake up

Wake up
Wake up O human
Open your eyes for once
Look deep into what you are just this one time
Look at what you have become
See for yourself what they have done to you
You are so unique
But you manage to lose that
In a life of useless strife
Only to become an insignificant drop in a still ocean
Across thousands of lives comes a human life
And what a grand waste
The mirage of your trivial life blinds you
Your own face you fail to see
Your inner self suffocates in the repetition of it all
Your character completely lost
And you forget to do what you want
Misled by the glitz of a bewildering path
You spend your life walking these endless circles
Sans a sense of what you really are
And then realize in death that life was much more
Much more than the money and the house
Much more than just the kids and the spouse
Wake up
Wake up O human
Not all is lost as long as a single breath of life remains
You can still be all that you want to be
Even if it leads you into absurdity
Even if nothing really comes out of your life
You will still rejoice
Bask in your own wonderful life
If you do what you want and not what you’re told
So make that trifle choice
For you and your soul’s sake
And for the sake of the world
For once in your life, wake up
Wake up O human!
